Malt Shovel
Also known as Yorkshire Rose
A St James Square pub that lasted into the 21st century.
Known history
Research note. Historic England lists an early 18th-century former pub on Church Lane, near St James Square, as "formerly listed as Yorkshire Rose Public House" (now Stonefield House). It may be this building, but that is not yet confirmed, so no pin is shown.
Known historically as the Malt Shovel, with the Yorkshire Rose also recorded as an earlier name. The Malt Shovel survived into the 21st century and was among Boroughbridge's trading pubs in 2005.

CAMRA records its permanent closure from 1 January 2011, with the premises later used as a shop.
